Yummmmmmmmy Treats!!!

Ok so we LOVE Christmas baking! We have a recipe for gingersnaps that our family has been baking up for almost 26 years! They are to die for!

1/4 C. molasses                 1 beaten egg
2 C. flour                          1/4 tsps. salt
2 tsps. soda                      1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves          1 tsp. ground ginger

Cream shortening and shortening; add molasses and egg; beat well. Add dry ingredients, mix well. Roll into small balls and dip into sugar.

Bake at 375 for 9 to 12 minutes.

Parties! Parties!

Has anyone ever been to a Holiday Ornament Exchange? We have and we think they are such a great idea! While everyone has fun at a 'white elephant' or 'chinese gift exchange'... whichever you may call it... Ornament Exchanges can be just as much fun and you always end up with a special memory to hang from your tree year after year!

This year why not come by The Painted Cottage for the best selection of ornaments around... Ok, again, we're biased, but we do have some really cute ones that are sure to have people happy they selected the ornament YOU brought! Afterward, you can even fill them in on your secret... the wonderful girls at The Painted Cottage!

Happy Shopping!

Giving some thanks...

To all of our wonderful customers who have also become our great friends! Because of all of your generosity, we were able to donate over 300lbs of food to 3 of our local churches! One church was able to feed 45 families for Thanksgiving!!!

We at The Painted Cottage were so proud to say that it was our loyal customers and friends who provided for these families!

We are hoping to be able to give the same amount (or perhaps more!) again right before Christmas! So please keep bringing in your non-perishables when you come by the store... And don't forget there is a special gift waiting for each time you do!
